This is why I watch Smackdown!

I'll start off with miscellaneous news before dealing with the title of this entry. I did get the shirt and shoes needed for work and everything fits and looks just fine. Now it's just a matter of seeing what happens when I start my first shift. Still relatively nervous, but I'm looking forward to it. Donkey Kong is completely done. The series finished yesterday and I'm glad that I did that series. You can check it out with this playlist. You know, you can go onto TheGamesNight channel and request games to be played. Go to that channel and make a request if you want me to do a run of a certain game and maybe I'll do it, depending on my own schedule as well as other various circumstances of course. James is holding a contest on not only TheGamesNight, but on the official wedotch channel, as well as on the flickthebeanz and roadtowembley channels. All you need to do is subscribe to those 4 channels, and if you have a Twitter account, follow James on the wedotech Twitter account and you can get 2 chances to win the official AC/DC Iron Man 2 soundtrack. Did some heavy duty recording last night for Pokemon FireRed last night. I now have over 3 hours worth of footage to use for the next week or so. I may do even more recording tonight just to have myself set for a while.

As far as music for today, I'm currently listening to some Blues Traveler at the moment. Now there is a band that is a lot more talented than given credit for. I have some of their songs in the playlist as well. Highly recommend some of them. I recommend their self-titled album as well as Of Travelers and Thieves, which is the album I'm listening to at the moment, as well as their 4th album simply called Four. The entire band is extremely talented in what they do and if you like to rock out or jam, then definitely give these guys a listen. Funny story about Blues Traveler. A couple years ago they played here in West Haven on the green for a free live show. I wasn't a fan of them at the time, though purely due to not knowing who they were. I was asked if I wanted to go, but chose not to for whatever reason. Here I am years later now regretting that decision. Oh well, maybe someday if they ever come back to Connecticut in some capacity I'll try and go.

Now it's time for the wrestling aspect of the blog and I'm going to talk about last night's episode of Friday Night Smackdown. I have to tell you guys, I loved it. At first I wasn't too sure how it would go because of the draft taking away both Edge and Chris Jericho, pretty much sapping Smackdown of star power, however last night's show put those fears to rest because it is clear as crystal that this show will be designed to build new stars. As of last night, Big Show was announced the number 1 contender for Jack Swagger's World Heavyweight Championship. I hope Swagger retains, because once Big Show is out of the title picture that gives opportunities to guys like Kofi Kingston or Christian a chance to finally nab the big one, even if Christian technically is a former world champion due to his time in TNA, it still isn't acknowledged by WWE for obvious reasons. Speaking of Christian, his little promo with Edge last night was totally awesome. If they're planning an Edge vs. Christian feud, sign me up because I would totally dig that. Smackdown also had something I really like, which is good wrestling. There were plenty of great matches yesterday including John Morrison vs. Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho, MVP and Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk and Luke Gallows, and even the divas tag match between Beth Phoenix and Kelly Kelly vs. Michelle McCool and Layla was watchable. The Big Show is suddenly a face after spending the last 2 years or so now as a heel. I like that his gimmick is that he can act goofy but pretty much just knocks people out. Those punches he gave to Swagger, Edge, and Jericho looked stiff as all hell. Anyway, I wait to see how Monday Night Raw will compare since they have a lot more star power now. To be honest, if Monday's show and yesterday's show is any indication, we might be in for at the very least a year of solid wrestling again which makes me smile like a spoiled child in a candy store.

So I woke up this morning and found out that TNA had finally fired Bubba "The Love Sponge." All I can say is that it's about time. Bubba offered absolutely nothing to the brand other than bad publicity, especially considering his issues with Awesome Kong, who is no longer in the company due to him in the first place. Some of you reading this, if not all of you, will have no idea what I'm talking about. Well, back during the aftermath of the horrible earthquake that happened in Haiti, Bubba deemed it necessary to post a message on Twitter basically saying, "We need to help our country out first. Fuck Haiti." Awesome Kong, who has been helping out various charities to help Haiti and even ran one of her own, was extremely offended by his comments, and rightfully so, and decided to punch him in the face. Kong was suspended for it, which is no shocker, and left the company over it, which I don't blame her for it either. You would think the problem would have been over from there, but no, not by a long shot. Bubba wouldn't shut up about it and continued to make various verbal attacks on Kong, even going as far as sending harrassing phone calls to her house, anonymously of course, and then claiming that he didn't do it after Kong threatened to press charges. Well, eventually it culminated to this. Apparently Kong was supposed to appear on another radio show, but it turned out to be nothing but a setup to give Bubba a chance to come on the show and continue to harrass her. Seriously, I'm glad this piece of shit is gone. He comes off as a major tool and it's only a good thing he's gone. I just wish Kong would knock him on his ass again.

Anyway, that's going to wrap up this entry and of course I hope you enjoy the playlist as well as enjoy reading. Until next time, take care.
