So NXT was on last night. We start the show off with 2 eliminations, despite the fact that it's been advertised constantly that only 1 person would be eliminated tonight. Matt Striker walks up to Michael Tarver and replays a clip from last week's show where he said that Tarver himself should be eliminated so that the rest of the talent has a chance to win. Striker said that management felt that if he didn't want to be there then he shouldn't, and thus he was eliminated. To be perfectly honest, if you paid attention to the actual promo, Tarver said it in a way that basically says, "I'm better than all of you." He was showing confidence in himself, but I'm sure that WWE were just looking for an excuse to get him off of the show. Who knows, maybe he'll go to Raw and be Ted Dibiase's new Virgil. Next Striker goes up to Daniel Bryan who has also been eliminated for the same reason. Daniel Bryan however admitted that he hasn't won a single match on the show and that he shouldn't be there if he can't win. Needless to say I, as well as the rest of the internet wrestling community, raged hard. What kills me is they weren't eliminated by the pro's poll, which was supposably the only way to be eliminated. They were eliminated by management, making the pro's poll completely meaningless since management can fire them at any time. We then have a match between Wade Barrett and Heath Slater. Was a pretty generic match. Nothing fantastic, but nothing horrid. Barrett got the win when he caught Slater in mid-air and slammed him down with his finishing move, which is basically like a fireman's carry. After the match there is an interview backstage between Striker and Tarver. Tarver was asked if he felt the ruling was fair. He said the ruling was fair, but the competition wasn't. To be fair, he's kind of right. None of the "challenges" had anything to do with wrestling. They were more like nonsensical Double Dare ripoffs more than anything. Tarver also gave a bit of a speech about how no one knows what it's like to sleep in a car, or not knowing when your next meal is going to be, or even worse, not being able to tell your children that they'll have dinner that night. It was actually a good promo and made my sympathize with him. Like I said earlier, he's probably going to be the next Virgil. We then cut to a match between David Otunga and Justin Gabriel. To be perfectly honest, this match did nothing for me. It was nothing special at all. Otunga got the win. Whoopty do. There was also a match between Skip Sheffield and Darren Young. I don't remember if that was before or after Otunga's match but it makes no difference. This match wasn't much better either to be perfectly honest. Skip Sheffield got the win. Backstage Matt Striker is not interviewing Daniel Bryan who cut an excellent promo. Striker asked what Daniel Bryan is going to do next, he said he doesn't know. He said Daniel Bryan sucked. He said he knew a guy who was a champion in Mexico and Japan who kicked people's heads in and was considered the best in the world. He said he wasn't sure what Daniel Bryan will be up to, but he said that things have only just begun for Bryan Danielson, which is his real name. Needless to say the internet wrestling community, as well as myself, marked beyond normal capacity. I hope that Bryan Danielson comes in and is booked to be the next Chris Benoit. No, not a homicidal, suicidal maniac who kills his family after taking a ridiculous number of head bumps and steroids. I mean someone who is extremely intense and will fuck you up in the ring. After that interview, it's time for the pro's poll. Turns out Wade Barrett is in first place, which is fine by me since he was my second favorite on the show, and since "Daniel Bryan" is now gone, Wade will be a fine addition to WWE. All the rookies said that Otunga should be eliminated, but it turns out that he was in 2nd place according to the pro's poll. Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater were in 3rd and 4th respectively, and finally Darren Young was in 5th place. That meant that Skip Sheffield was in 6th place and forced to leave. Shame, I actually like Sheffield. That pretty much ended the show though. Overall, it was better than last week's show, and the week before, but overall, it was meh. To be honest, they haven't been able to top the first show.
In Youtube news, I made a new account for me to talk about wrestling. The channel is called DaveWrestlingReplies. I made an introduction video for that channel and just talk about my background as a wrestling fan as well as what that channel will be about. Pretty much it's designed for me to reply to other videos about professional wrestling and to share my opinion on various wrestling topics. There will also probably be other various bits of comedy and other things related to wrestling. I made the channel because I know a lot of my subscribers on my main channel aren't necessarily wrestling fans, and don't want wrestling on my channel. To be fair, I can't necessarily blame them, and I want to appease my audience as much as I can, so I made a seperate channel to do wrestling videos. I'll still favorite wrestling videos and stuff, but my main channel will no longer upload wrestling related content, unless it's a video game. There will also be a new episode of Pokemon FireRed today. We'll be leaving Seafoam Islands and heading toward Cinnabar island. Not sure exactly how far the episode will go though. I may be able to fit most of the Pokemon Mansion in, but probably not. Either way, we won't find out until I upload it.
Anyway, that's going to do it for today's blog. I have nothing else to really talk about, so until next time, take care.
