It's been a while since I've written anything in this blog, but to the behest of my cousin Nikki I suppose I'll put some effort and time into posting an entry. She asked me to update this blog at my cousin Michelle's wedding. The wedding was nice. I had quite a bit of fun there and it was nice seeing some of my cousins again, especially the ones I rarely ever see. Food was really good too. I ordered the steak, and it definitely delivered. All in all though, it was a great time.
As far as Youtube goes, I'm on my break for Pokemon FireRed. Episode 53 was posted 2 weeks ago and I'll be reviewing games for a while until my counterpart has caught up in his Pokemon LeafGreen run. My next review is going to be Super Mario Bros. Crossover which is a flash game available on Newgrounds.com. I highly recommend giving it a play, fun times. The review should be up by Friday at the latest. Footage is captured, but it's just a matter of narrating, and if I can bring myself to actually go through narrating, then it should be up much sooner.
As far as music, today I'm listening to String Cheese Incident. I've mentioned them before, but I'm really taking a major liking into this band. I've added more of their songs into the playlist so by all means please check them out. I'm listening to the album Breathe, which primarily features Keller Williams, whom I also like. Lots of good jamming done on this album and if you're a fan of laid back music that jams out I highly recommend giving it a listen.
Well, this is the part of the blog that I suppose you may or may not care about as it pertains to wrestling, or is, at the very least, associated with it. First, in actual wrestling though, I'm loving the NXT Season 1 angle where they basically just run in and wreak all kinds of havoc on Monday Night Raw. Good stuff. Season 2 of NXT is turning out good, but I have a feeling I'll be loathing it soon enough once the "challenges" start showing up. Rey Mysterio is the World Heavyweight Champion as of the last pay-per-view, Fatal Four Way. What a way to completely derail Jack Swagger's push. I hope Swagger wins the title back soon because I really enjoyed his title reign. Sheamus won the WWE Championship at Fatal Four Way as well. I hope his second reign is a lot better than his first.
At first, I was extremely skeptical of the wrestling community when they said that Linda McMahon's Senate run is going to hurt the wrestling business, but I'm starting to think that there may be some merit to that claim. One of the major bits of news going around in the wrestling community is that Bryan Danielson (also known as Daniel Bryan) was let go from the WWE due to the first NXT invasion segment in which he choked out Justin Roberts, an announcer, with his neck tie. It's merely speculation, but there was word going around that her candidacy for Senate is responsible for him being fired. There have been other reasons too, but this one really pisses me off the most. The fact is, the man was fired for doing what he was scripted and told to do. He was fired for doing his job. Linda's whole message is that she is going to create more job opportunities, yet someone lost their job possibly because of her? That's not someone who deserves my vote. I'm not going to openly say that Linda is responsible for getting Danielson fired, but it seems like a likely scenario. Apparently some of Rob Simmons' representatives were in the crowd this past Monday night while Raw was in Bridgeport. They were apparently looking for dirt to use on Linda, which could very well explain the nonsensical apology segment that the NXT faction gave. They basically came out and said "yeah, we know what we're doing is totally wrong and terrible and we're sorry." It made no sense and it killed a lot of the momentum that this angle was building. Luckily they managed to salvage some momentum back later in the night when they attacked Cena again and took out Vince. Fact is though, had Linda not run for Senate, I'm sure things would be slightly different in the WWE right now. I don't necessarily full on blame Linda for it, as anyone has a right to run for office, for the most part, but because of her ties with the company, anything they do will have affect her campaign, and it's that association that will cause her to hurt the business.
Speaking of Linda and Vince, they're also getting sued by Martha Hart, Owen Hart's widow. The reason is because of Owen's likeness being used and referenced on WWE television. While I have sympathy for Martha for the loss of her husband, the fact of the matter is, Vince has every right to use Owen's footage for a dvd release. The timing is also rather suspicious due to the fact that it's election season and she all of a sudden is making a lawsuit about mentioning Owen. It seems like nothing more than a political stunt or wanting to get more money out of Vince (after the 18 million she already got out of him.) Owen Hart died after a very tragic accident 11 years ago at a pay per view called Over the Edge in which he fell during a stunt that would have him descend from the ceiling. It was very tragic. That aside, Owen deserves recognition for the wrestler he was, and Martha doesn't want us to remember Owen as a great wrestler. She doesn't want us to remember Owen at all. It seems like she wants to have him completely erased from our memory. I'm sorry Mrs. Hart, but we all loved Owen and respected him and what he did for the wrestling business. Owen would have been inducted into the Hall of Fame a long time ago had it not been for Martha Hart. Hold your grudge on Vince if you want, but don't deny the fans the right to acknowledge Owen for what he did within this business.
Anyway, that's all I can be bothered to talk about at this point and time. I hope you are happy Nikki, I actually bothered to post something new.
